No one outside of Apple knows what the actual copper color will be. It might be that or it might be more metallic.
The Pantone colors are allegedly from an Apple internal document. The frosted glass and the aluminum coating can certainly yield a different look than the plain RGB representation. But it won’t be anything I’d consider “orange”.

Was thinking the colors would have been even lighter. But a quick search for the colors based on the Pantone codes mentioned in Macworld shows that they are brighter than what I was expecting (except for the Air). Disappointed with the colors of the Air/slim model.

The blue for Pro/Pro Max is very similar to 15 Pro blue. Like the orange/papaya one for the Pro model. Looks good.

A very vocal minority has been demanding more colors for the iPhone Pro models. It kind of reminds me of a grandma complaining that a young man’s pants are too wrinkled because they’re not ironed flat like in the 1950s. Sure, let’s listen to them and bring candy colors to the iPhone Pro lineup. A foldable iPhone, Apple Intelligence that will never be finished, iOS 26, and now this.
Grandma was correct. Her grandkids are the reason why McDonalds now looks like its terminally depressed.

But if you are color-adverse you can still get them in dull, dull, or dull.

I'm not even sure why we care about colors at all? From the front you don't see it, if you have a case you don't see it. So who is looking at the back of their naked phone?

Those who put them screen-down. You also see a sliver of the color from the front (though I’d prefer if the bezels were colored as well). And even with a case you see the color from the camera cutout, which this year is growing much larger.

That’s not orange. More like salmon-copper

Edit: The actual Pantone color:

I’d say it’s more … Papaya 😉

I don’t know if there’s a technical reason the titanium phones have never had deep colour saturation, but maybe they will roll that into the excuse for going back to aluminium? They’ll probably not mention it in the keynote but if when pressed in interviews:

Bla bla - a lot of users loved the variety of colours - bla bla - anodisation process only available with aluminum”

I don't think it's just an Apple BS thing. I heard someone say it in a non tech related video I was watching the other day and just rolled my eyes.

I also get annoyed by the overuse (and often misuse) of the term "aesthetic".
It means a specific combination of colors and while the term isn't an Apple creation it is about as pretentious sounding as a flavor profile in foods.
